Chief Financial Officer

The Position

Anova is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee all of the Company’s accounting and finance functions, including payables, revenue and royalties, production and joint venture accounting, tax, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, revenue and royalty accounting, production accounting and Petrinex reporting, joint venture accounting and payroll.
• Lead the Controller and the accounting team, run the monthly close and the accounting system, and build the team as the Company grows.
• Lead quarterly and annual financial reporting under IFRS, including the MD&A and the annual audit.
• Manage cash and banking, lender reporting and covenant compliance.
• Prepare the budget, forecasts and corporate model, track capital spending against AFEs, and support capital allocation decisions with the Vice Presidents.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance, including income tax and GST, the corporate structure and the insurance program.
• Design and maintain internal controls and finance policies.
• Support the financial evaluation and due diligence of acquisitions and dispositions.
• Prepare finance materials for the Board and reporting for shareholders.

Qualifications

• CPA or CFA designation, with at least ten years of experience in Canadian upstream oil and gas accounting and finance, including public company reporting.
• Experience overseeing production, revenue, royalty and joint venture accounting for an operated producer.
• Strong financial modelling and technical accounting skills.
• Experience preparing a private company for public company reporting standards or a listing is an asset.
• Able to work from the Calgary head office.
